Purush shastra

From PhalkeFactory

The unmantest Purusa takes form (eyes mouth body etc)

Without past, future, etcetra, without death or indestructible in this transient world.

THe world of Chetana and Achetana are only one fourth (pada) of him. The other 3/4 is spread over the 3 worlds.

Narayana, Vasudeva, Vaikunta, 3 rupas of the PURUSA- abide in the upper lok. Therefore all pervasive Purusa occupies the devas and manavas.

From that Purusa Brahmananda known as Virat was born.

Occupying this was born the Chatur Mukha Brahma.

The later born earth, the pranis and the previously born Brahmanda, water, fire and thier respective deities (Abhimana Devatas), he(Brahma) became more powerful and thus became the head.

The Devatas made oblations(Havisa) conceptualising them from that Virata Purusa himself, making Hari the subject(Uddesh), and performed yagna. For this, Vasant Ritu was the ghee, Krishna Ritu was the firewood. Sharad Ritu was the offerings. (This was imagined/conceptualised) The Devatas, sadhyas, rishis, sprinkled this yagna purusa and worshipped.

Having received the sacrifice(Ahuti) from all, ghee ( mixed) and with curds came into existence from this Yagna Purusa.

Similarly, the beings of the air, forests and cities were born.

Through this yagna, the Rigveda, Yajurveda, and Samaveda Gayatri and other chandas were born.

Again from him- Horse, Dog, Cow, Sheep and other creatures were born.

When we say the Devatas imagined/conceptualised the yagna, How did they do dhyana? What was the face? The arms? The thighs? The feet?

The face represented the Brahman, the shoulders the Kshatriya, the thighs the Vaishyas, the feet the Shudras. These were the creation ground for them.

THe moon was born from the manas(heart), Sun from the eyes, Indra and Agni from the mouth, and Vayu from the breath.
