Madhav Prasad Mishra's short story, Ladki ki Bahaduri, appears in the journal Sudarshan. It is sometimes cited as the first work of short fiction in the still evolving Hindustani language. Veer Savarkar, later associated with the right wing Hindu Mahasabha, starts the Abhinav Bharat as a secret society of revolutionary terrorists. The Maharasthra Natak Mandali introduces naturalist prose theatre, later associated with the stage/film star, Keshavrao Date.
